Nevada is a Turquoise Mining Mecca, home to more Turquoise Mines than any other State. Mines in the District were discovered as early as 1902 and Royston Is the oldest patented mine in Nevada. Royston has become The most popular Turquoise in Nevada. Royston Turquoise is personally one my favorite types of Turquoise and has became highly sought after by Silversmiths, Metalsmith’s and Jewelry Designers alike. The Royston Turquoise Mine produces a wide spectrum of popular colors from light blue to deep green and everything between. The per carat price of Royston Turquoise has been steadily rising over the past few years.
The Royston Turquoise Mine and most of the Mines in the Royston Mining District are currently owned by The Otteson Family of Tonepah, Nevada. Turquoise Mining runs 3 Generations Deep in the Otteson Family.
