Shell Pearls are made from the inner lining of oyster shells also known as mother of Pearl. The substance is ground to a fine powder, dyed, shaped and coated with natural Pearl nacre and coating to give it a luster. The industry highly regulates the making of shell pearls and they will not lose their color or be affected by sweat or perfume. Indeed they are more durable than natural pearls.
