Located in Carlin, Nevada in Eureka County. The mine was was first discovered in 1925 but not mined until 1929. In its prime the #8 mine produced some of the largest Turquoise Nuggets ever found. Almost all the turquoise produced had the spider web type with the matrix varying from brown to black. The Number 8 Mine is closed to Turquoise mining today.
